My girlfriend and I fell violently ill at the Waldorf Astoria Chicago after the carbon monoxide detector went off in our hotel room. We were diagnosed with carbon monoxide exposure at local hospitals.

Great hotel in a wonderful location. Ask for a room with a fireplace. Be sure to check out the excellent fitness center and pool.

Marble bathrooms, soaking tubs, indoor lap-pool, Top 10 Spa in the US, Balsan restaurant -- all in the swanky Gold Coast neighborhood. What's not to love!
