Patriots set out to capture the British post at Fort Motte, a mansion owned by Rebecca Motte. She not only accepted a plan to burn her home, but offered up her own set of bow & arrows.

Second floor reading room is a great place to study. Surrounded by some great Carolinians past. Check out the busts of Thomas Cooper and John C Calhoun.
